Finnish Lessons: Nurturing Education

Finland ranks at the top of most major indicators of education and literacy in the world. With a literacy rate of 100% and no gender differences or male/female distinctions, it has managed in a relatively short time to achieve what many other countries have been unable to do for decades. It is considered one of the most educated and wealthy countries in the world with a highly skilled labor force, a robust health care system and a high standard of living. It has also managed to lay an enviable foundation of sustained social and economic development, partly premised on advancements and an emphasis on cutting-edge information technology culture, a learning and educational system that provides the creative energy and innovation for future growth and development.
