ABSTRACT
The nature of research involving humans creates a special relationship between researchers and their subjects. Researchers require the cooperation of humans to conduct investigations. At the same time, subjects rely on researchers to treat them respectfully and ethically. Nevertheless, some research projects may expose participants to risks, including physical injury, psychological discomfort, or loss of privacy.
