ABSTRACT

In this section I draw a comparison between Kierkegaard and Nietzsche as lonely outsiders who lose themselves in a religious outlook and contrast this with Jung, who always needed to stay connected to the earthly (grounded). The one-sidedness that Jung attributes to Nietzsche is here contrasted with the one-sidedness that is evident in Kierkegaard. What is key here is that according to Jung both Nietzsche and Kierkegaard are flawed in their respective approaches towards their concept of God, religion and the spiritual.
