ABSTRACT

One of the critical questions with regard to wisdom is, can wisdom be taught and learnt or is it a God-given gift? Is it a set of intrinsic personal/behavioural characteristics or a set of meta-competencies that can be learnt and developed? As we argue in this chapter, some meta-competencies and capacities (henceforth called wisdom meta-competencies) can be learnt and developed. However, there are some other competencies for which teaching strategies or learning practices have not yet been adequately developed. We see this as an opportunity for educators, especially in business education.
