ABSTRACT

Up to this point, I have been discussing the Anishinaabeg in the third person for the most part. However, as I have stated elsewhere, it is difficult for me to speak about the Anishinaabeg in the third person since I am a citizen of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. 1 For the sake of keeping the discussion at a more scholarly level for this book, I decided to use the third person in referring to the Anishinaabeg. However, I would like to end on a more personal note and speak as an Anishinaabe person. As such, I will switch to using the first person plural for the Anishinaabeg.
