ABSTRACT
The existing territorial and maritime dispute in the South China Sea (SCS) has been pending for decades. Despite tremendous efforts toward conflict management, the settlement of the decades-old maritime dispute in the SCS seems to be politically deadlocked and has encountered difficulties that may keep it from being settled quickly, if ever.
