ABSTRACT
Post-1975, consensus emerged over the semi-federal State of Autonomies. While this has satisfied the demands for regional self-government on the part of most Spaniards, in Catalonia this was seen as an evolving process. This chapter will assess the development of autonomy and the growing dissatisfaction that emerged within Catalanism from the late 1990s.
