ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides a serious attempt at relating musicology to a variety of Christian faith traditions. It offers some serious insights into the kinds of academic conversations to take place within the realms of theology and ecclesiology. The book explores the conversations about faith, feeling, reception and performance. The field of theology and religious studies has been thoroughly exposed to conversations with social sciences such as anthropology and sociology; and more recently, with psychology and cosmology. The theology that ultimately shapes and informs faith is both implicit and explicit. The book focuses on implicit theology seeks to pay attention to the normally neglected and often over-looked dimensions of ecclesial life that are constitutive for belief and practice. The book shows that music is truly one of the great accompaniers in religion and spirituality.
