ABSTRACT
In this study we have posed two distinct questions, the primary question being how ethnic groups in conflict have adopted demographic strategies, the secondary being the extent to which they have succeeded in doing so. The first question has been addressed by proposing a typology against which a number of conflicts have been tested. Both questions have been addressed in the case studies.
