ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book focuses on the use of social and behavioural theory in design for behaviour change. It analysis the different models, tools and processes that have been introduced throughout the discussion of the different domains and related examples. The book elaborates on ethical challenges in design for behaviour change thinking as an essential element of applying design to fields that directly change organizations or even the societal system; on the expanding ambition of design to embrace the societal, environmental and ethical challenges as well as the matching development of appropriate processes to address them successfully; and on the changing nature of design that these changes entail. It offers a cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral overview of the current developments of the field of design for behaviour change.
