Teamwork in developed and in many emerging societies today is marked by increased fluidity of interactions with others facilitated globally by the web and mobile technology (Kakihara et al., 2002). Even small start-up businesses may operate on a global as well as a local level by means of online trading or ‘crowdsourcing’ for in stance. In Teaming: How Organizations Learn, Innovate, and Compete in the Knowledge Economy Edmondson (2012) says that ‘surviving and thriving’ today requires a ‘seismic shift’ in how we think about and build, collaborate or support teams.
