ABSTRACT

The Ethical Performance Improvement Campaign (EPIC) Journey highlights the importance of an ethical organizational climate, and the ability to address power relations within an organization, in relation to effective diversity management. It presents a data driven, long-term, in-depth methodology to improve the diversity management performance of organizations. The EPIC requires senior executives to make serious personal commitments to social change and social justice, and to allow for a level of social activism within themselves, their employees, and their organization, that has the potential of challenging, and even of destabilizing, status quos. The EPIC Journey applies management science to diversity performance, and takes data collection beyond the surface of demographic data, and delves deeper into the ethical climates of organizations, and into institutional barriers that could be blocking diversity management progress. The EPIC Journey provides a fully-formed holistic approach to diversity management.
