Juan Bautista Manuel, chief clerk of the...fleet and armada, deposed that... ² . (p, 3) ... The said fleet and armada lying at anchor in the harbour of Nombre de Dios, at the end of a month, or thereabouts, after its arrival there, it was publicly rumoured that off the Main, on the Nombre de Dios coast, at the headland called Captivas, there were two corsair ships, one English, the other French. According to what was reported, each was working separately at first; afterwards, they made an agreement and worked together.
