ABSTRACT
This chapter brings the reader below the surface of what is found in Grow in Love. It reveals some of the theological themes that underpin the practice and operation of the lessons that are aimed at Junior and Senior Infants in the South and P1 and P2 in the North. The chapter explores the meaning of the word 'God', with attention given to the belief that God is love. It presents some significance of the Incarnation and Trinity for Grow in Love along with the importance of the sacramental principle for the programme. The chapter then outlines a note of caution about the overuse of one's own experience in religious education and shows how this new programme is in keeping with Share the Good News. The 'special' revelation of God is the person of Jesus Christ. It is important to find the right balance between reflecting on one's experience of the divine and hearing about the 'special' revelation of God.
