ABSTRACT
There are notable benefits for the study of driver behaviour and vehicle feedback in adopting team-based models of SA. Even so, the notion that team SA relies on a combination of individual and shared awareness also reveals some fundamental limitations of the cognitive/experimental psychology approach to SA and its constituent requirements. Whilst the notion of teams, in the loosest sense of the term, admits the possibility of greater degrees of emergence, the normative nature of SA still persists.
