Seinam,inalatitudeof75oto82°andmore,exceptthat uptothepresentithasnotyetbeendiscoveredhowmuch furtheritextendsN.?Sothatthereisagreaterdistance betweenWilloughby'sislandandSpitsbergenthanbetween EnglandandtheNetherlands.Whereforethisallegation oftheEnglishiswithoutanybasis;moreover,wouldthe soleviewofacountrygiveanyonealegitimaterighttoits ownership?Itisquitetruethatourmarinersfoundno countryinthesaidlocalityof72°.Butinasmuchasit appearsfromtheEnglishJournalthatthesaidKnight paidnoregardtotheindicationofthecompasstowards theN.E.andN.W.,hesailedmoretotheN.thanhe thought.Sothatitisevidentthathediscoveredand foundtheeightsmallislands,whichareveryneareach other,inthelatitudeof73°,andarecalledbyourmariners theIslandsofWillebord.Inthislongitudeandlatitude istheislandofWilloughbyonthemapswhicharemadein EnglandfortheMuscovyCompany,andforthevessels thatgotoSpitsbergen.Sothattheirownmarinemaps evidentlycontradictit.TheEnglishwritethatthesaid KnightwinteredintheRiverWarsina,inLapponia,and thathewasfrozentodeathwithallhismen,andthatthe thirdvessel,withCaptainRichardChanceler,pushedon intotheWhiteSea.
