ABSTRACT
This chapter first critically reviews the academic literature on the duty to care during epidemics and the question of how much risk must be accepted by medical personnel during their work. It then asks to what extent military medical personnel can be said to have this duty in the same way as their civilian counterparts or whether military health care personnel might act under a different moral obligation – with more or less encompassing but at least different duties.
