ABSTRACT
ICREFH’s 11th symposium in Paris 2009 met to discuss two preoccupations of our time: food and war. It is an interest confirmed by the most cursory of glances at the shelves of book stores, the popular press, computer game lists or the television schedules. To date, research on the two topics has developed in separate spheres, with a rich historiography of each but few points where the two have been interlinked.
