ABSTRACT
As for the New Spain fleet, I had already assured its safety by sending Martin Perez word not to leave until this coast should be free; and he has acted accordingly. The frigates have been saved by similar advice for I had also warned them concerning these enemy ships and their purpose, which warning I sent out from the same port ofBatabano4 on the 14th of the present month.
