ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the ways in which spirituality is experienced in project teams. If each individual is a spiritual being, then there is the potential for collective spiritual energy when people come together. It describes teams where the project manager and team members are committed to each others spiritual growth and to making a positive difference in the world. And it is just as important for a project team to know itself to have self-awareness about the body, mind, emotion and spirit of the team as a whole. Project management provides an individual with the opportunity to find greater spirituality in his/her life through being involved in something that brings greater meaning and purpose, and through the challenges and opportunities for personal growth that come from relationships. Spiritual leadership means seeing oneself as a servant leader to the team, and being committed to helping each team member to be a servant leader to others.
