ABSTRACT

We use the term ‘timeline’ in NLP to mean the way we mentally store pictures, sounds and feelings of our past, present and future. It sets ‘subjective experience’, at the centre of NLP, in the dimension of time. Tad James and Wyatt Woodsmall popularized the subject in their 1988 book Timeline Therapy and the Basis of Personality. This chapter shows you how you can identify your own and someone else's timeline. It includes an exercise designed to remove the effect of disempowering memories.
