What’s common to these two stories is that music is a way for Adam and Rachel to experiment with the relationship between ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ through something they do with music (and that music does reciprocally with them). They find through this practical experience with music that something can be created and controlled, and they come to the intuitive or more conscious understanding that there is indeed ‘no boundary’ between inside and outside, but rather, as Adam says, ‘I’m always having some interaction… some transaction with it’.
