ABSTRACT

A good learning management system can be needed for training records, general administration, control and evaluation. As part of the annual business planning process, managers should go through the individual training plans with their staff and identify training necessary to their work programmes. Managers should consider whether the corporate learning centre can meet their needs before sending their staff to the internal training centre or external training establishments. Corporate learning centre courses may prove more cost-effective. The style and content of the syllabus can need to reflect personal and organizational aims, real training and business needs, and the culture of the organization, and tie in with existing training programmes. If the organization needs to improve information technology skills, this can be apparent from the number of such courses on offer in the syllabus, and similar observations apply if the company has a big commitment to the personal development needs of staff.
