ABSTRACT

Project governance is the means by which senior stakeholders in the client organization oversee the project and make critical decisions such as authorizing commencement of key stages and agreeing major changes. The adoption of new Human resources (HR) technology will have a major impact across and down the organization and will require a group of senior stakeholders to oversee its implementation. Project management is a set of principles, practices and techniques that are applied to the leadership of project teams and to the control of project schedule, costs, quality and risks. Complex projects require excellent management, and the role of project manager is critical to the successful delivery of HR technology. Before getting too far into detailed deliverables such as the project initiation documents (PID) and the business case, it is important to hammer a few stakes in the ground to get basic agreement on what the project is about, in terms of its vision, scope and objectives.
