ABSTRACT

Introduction The aims of this chapter are firstly to emphasise the need to recognise and differentiate the whole journey approach as a means of promoting mobility, and secondly to explore the usefulness of the Hexagon-Spindle model (H-S model) as a way of systematically addressing the requirements of different groups of travellers. The chapter will draw on other chapters in this book and the results from different aspects of the METPEX project (such as the trials, analysis of the land use and consultation with stakeholders).
