ABSTRACT

This chapter presents five short organizational stories of transformation in mining institutions in Australia, Peru, South Africa, China and the Philippines. The Benchmark of Engagement (BeQ) philosophy was used in all the cases to describe the national dynamics and human niche differences and how these differences impact on the organizational psyche. It focuses the comparative measurement of sustainable organizational transformation is discussed. The Effecting part of the GENE model. The majority of research participants were from Africa, with significant participation in South Africa and Ghana. Leadership programmes at business schools should take cognizance of this development area in future leadership. Although the BeQ philosophy searches for issues that take away voice on all the different domains, on the doing and the being side of leadership, it is clear from the different BeQ-stories told below that most issues are caused by behavioural issues or the being aspect.
