ABSTRACT

This chapter describes what happened in the period after the end of the project. Since leaving Fox River, the company’s financial management had reverted back to how it was before the project. Paul was still in control of the costings and Synergist, and the managers and the other staff continued to perform the contract duties without reference to the budget. The chapter also describes the management meetings and the resignation of a manager, and what had happened to the workbook since the end of the project. It discusses the various accounting adjustments that were required for the year-end accounts and for audit purposes. Consequently, there were concerns about the data integrity of Synergist and the cost control of the contracts. Responsibility accounting was again recommended but was again rejected by Fernando. Management meetings were found to be a whitewash and, as the managers were looking for other employment, there was also the need for a new Synergist champion.
