ABSTRACT
Chapter 2 begins with a description of how I was energised for the leadership calling from the time I was born, and through all the seasons of life including young adulthood and mid-life up to maturity. I begin to apply, through my life story, the concepts that were introduced in Chapter 1 such as the GENE, Ubuntu, the 4Cs and the Integral worlds. The story is about a life of hard work, growing and being grounded in the village and learning to relate to others in the true spirit of Ubuntu or humanness. I acquired informal and formal education throughout my enriched life and working experience in the ‘community’ of various organisations. The chapter is the Call phase of the 4Cs rhythm, whereby through my life story the burning desire for the pursuit of Integral Ubuntu Leadership is nurtured. It is a life of character development and perpetual learning in an inclusive and humane environment.
