ABSTRACT
Airports around the world are operated by various entities including local government authorities, state government instrumentalities, private companies, consortiums and public corporations. As such, they are subject not only to airport-related legislation but also to the statutory requirements that are generally applied to these types of organizations. This chapter will look at the regulatory requirements prescribed in Volume I of Annex 14 and how these requirements are incorporated into different legal systems around the world. For the purposes of this chapter, Volume II (Heliports) will not be considered.
