ABSTRACT
One of the main themes considered in the first part of the book was the degree of ‘positive’ urban development impact brought about by Expositions, that is, their capacity to drive or catalyse other projects, infrastructures and investments that may or may not have been anticipated beforehand. We have already seen that this is more than just the ‘built legacy’, no matter how important the facilities and infrastructure forming part of the Exposition site proper might be.
