ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to assess the implications of United States (US)

foreign policy for international order. Galia Press-Barnathan (2003) has correctly

pointed out that there is a wide gap in literature on US Foreign Policy between

the writings of American scholars (Copeland 2003) and writers of the ‘English

School’ (Buzan 2004; Little 2000, 2003). Indeed, most of the articles published in

prominent international relations journals clearly fall within the former category.
