ABSTRACT

This chapter explains secured goods to potential end buyers. The primary intermediary agent (PIA) is unsure if the person being contacted is a real end buyer or not, so there is not a lot of information provided about the product at this stage because a good trader would wait and see what type of response they received. Even corporate giants who know very little about ethanol may attempt to buy these goods from a PIA in the hope that they could flip the contract over quickly. Email is the main communication device for enquiries, quotations and offers. Experience shows that mailed letters sent directly to a named CEO of a company increases the chance of receiving the principal's attention than a facsimile or email. A good quotation will dictate whether people can commence and continue with a trade or whether it is going to collapse early on.
