ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the main doctrinal tenets of Moltmann's theology and attempted to explicate an eschatological ethic of hope which may be derived from it. In this, some practical discussions were conducted using the motifs of love and liberation. The loving relationships of Father, Son and Spirit in the divine Tri-unity form the basis of this eschatological act of promise in which Christian moral action takes place in the power of the Holy Spirit. Moltmann uses the term perichoresis' to describe the mutual in dwelling of the divine persons in unity. Regarding perichoresis, he says: For this concept grasps the circulatory character of the eternal divine life. An eternal life process takes place in the triune God through the exchange of energies. The glory of the triune God is also reflected in the community of Christ: in the fellowship of believers and of the poor.
