ABSTRACT
The implementation of JIT logistics requires proper understanding, planning and organizing of the related activities, with the development of a strategy and operational plan to begin with. The implementation of JIT logistics is an incremental process, which needs continual efforts over an extended period that may run into years to realize the full benefits. It should be noted that the implementation process is likely to invoke changes in a firm. An understanding of the organizational factors is essential to avoid potential pitfalls in the implementation process. The development of an implementation strategy and an operational plan will provide a roadmap necessary to kick-off and conclude JIT logistics implementation.
