ABSTRACT

Individual traits and character, values, motives, and competencies determine the choices, actions, attitudes, and behaviors of leaders through which they determine the being and becoming of the organization. At the same time, the leader is dependent on the organizational context, which encompasses strategies, structures, processes, authority and control mechanisms, systems, culture, and technology which in turn are dependent, to a certain degree, on the organization's external environment. We can therefore assume the organization as an open system, composed of interrelated elements and characteristics, which affect and are affected by the external environment.
