ABSTRACT

In this final part of the book we will sum up our results from the empirical survey and make relevant comparisons between the two groups, families with small children and elderly people, in order to extend our analysis in terms of its analytical, theoretical and comparative values. First we highlight some important contributions of our approach to consumer research where we identify significant resources for grouping together consumption, mobility and objects, especially in terms of advancing an actor-network theory approach for expanding consumer research. Then we discuss similarities and differences across the groups but also focus on specificities of the two groups on their own terms following a number of themes that emerged from the empirical data.
