ABSTRACT

Change, innovation and leadership are inextricably linked. Change in organizations arises out of the need to be innovative, to proactively engage change from within and position for the future or as a reaction to sudden strategic shocks in the external environment that arrive unannounced and unanticipated. Internal catalysts for change include the natural transition that occurs as organizations grow and mature, a desire for performance improvement, business re-engineering and business process change. All require strong leadership skills to energize change in mindsets and, frequently, the corporate culture.
