ABSTRACT

The evolution of peace operations during the past 15 years has been intense. From the Cold War-period timid peacekeeping operations to expansive peace missions during the 1990s and regional burden-sharing in the first decade of the twenty-first century, this form of international intervention seems to be evolving once again.
