ABSTRACT

Chapter 7 explores wider strategic implications for the major themes that have been raised through the case studies and empirical research presented in previous chapters around issues for older workers’ learning and development.

The chapter is separated into three parts. Part 1 explores strategic implications for human resource management (HRM) at a macro level and Part 2 focuses on strategic implications for organisational learning and development at a meso level. Part 3 culminates in the drawing up of a theoretical model and theory of integration for sustainability and learning needs for older workers. This model is directly applicable to leadership and what strategic change and altered vision is required to best fulfil the potential and flourishing of older workers.
