ABSTRACT

Libraries and librarians can play a role in supporting academics as lifelong learners and enabling them to meet the changes and challenges of the evolving information resources and systems of access defined in, and required by, their work. In Australian higher education, Australian Catholic University (ACU) is characterised as a medium-sized university but, with six relatively small campuses, is able to offer personalised education to its students'. Centrally managed ACU liaison librarian activities include internal communication, external communication and marketing, core library functions, and learning and teaching. St Patrick's Campus is one specific example of a boutique service within the ACU structure. Engaging with campus-based ACU staff and students, through our school-based roles, provides the opportunity for librarians to gain a deeper knowledge of the context in which our academic groups learn, teach and research. The School of Religious Education (SoRE) is a national school that has a presence across a number of campuses.
