ABSTRACT

If one wants to measure the specifics of different philosophical cultures in analogy with the ‘litmus test’ used by chemists, the attitude towards German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) and Kantianism might be one of the most reliable touchstones. It is well known that an aversion towards the ideas of the Königsberg philosopher is a distinct hallmark of the Russian ‘Slavophile’ tradition and idealism.
