ABSTRACT

Cash flow management can be something between a balancing act and a juggling act, ensuring that cash outflows and cash inflows never clash to leave an overdraft at the bank that exceeds the agreed credit limit. Students often make the mistake of simply predicting what the difference will be between all the cash inflows and outflows at the end of the project. The project manager is at the hub of the project, and in the contract matrix is seen to be the principal point of contact between all parts of the organization. The project manager will also be expected to provide any information and facilities that the independent engineer needs to certify to the bank, the guarantor and the client that claims for payment are truly representative of the work done at the end of each period. Clearly, the site manager has a very important role in supporting the project manager.
