Orientation Toward Uncertainty

Uncertainty is one of the defining factors of a project. It differentiates a project from a standardized process and from ongoing operations. Project environments differ in their orientation toward uncertainty. A Project Environment’s orientation toward uncertainty impacts the solutions delivered by that Project Environment. Environments oriented to work with a high degree of uncertainty produce different outcomes for a given set of circumstances from those which are oriented to work with certainty.
