ABSTRACT
This chapter:
examines some of the initiatives and interventions by sporting clubs and communities to address the ‘culture of drinking’ in sport;
reviews the relative success and limitations of various initiatives intended to reduce or mitigate some of the social and health harms of sport-related drinking;
explores the role of lay knowledge and lay strategies in keeping drinkers safe.
