ABSTRACT

Introduction 14 January 2011 is the most representative day of the Tunisian Revolution, which led to the fall of the regime of Ben Ali. The great demonstration on the Avenue Habib Bourguiba, in Tunis, which began early in the morning and lasted until late in the evening, forced the President to flee the country. More or less detailed reconstructions of the preconditions (Mabrouk, 2011) and of the events and protagonists of the Revolution are easy to find on the Web, in newspapers, and in scientific journals (Bettaïeb, 2011; Weslati, 2011), and there are many analyses of the effects of the Revolution at different levels (Gobe, 2012).
