ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book aims to give an overview of the Russian renewable energy landscape that can help international actors in formulating policies to promote international cooperation with Russia on renewable energy. It presents ten Nordic experiences from Nordic-Russian cooperation indicated that the main foci of Nordic actors in Russia are wind and bioenergy. The book outlines the understanding of cooperation that ideally be about mutual benefit in science and innovation. It describes the institutions in ranking appear highly relevant for foreign funding organizations or research institutions looking for Russian project partners. The book focuses on the analysis of Russia's solar power sector. With the Russian state owning the patent rights to these new technologies, the benefits for the Russian economy will be tremendous. The economic windfall accruing to Russia is assumed to make it the world's third largest economy after China and India.
