ABSTRACT

John Logan, screenwriter for Ralph Fiennes's 2012 film version of Coriolanus, revealed in an interview just after the film's premiere, “I have a bust of Shakespeare in my office, and when I wrote ‘Coriolanus’ I put a blindfold, a red hiking bandana, over his eyes. Recently, I took the bandana off.” When the interviewer asked what happened next, Logan answered, “He still looked me in the eye. Mind you, he's just a marble bust, so what else could he do?” 1
