ABSTRACT

Enclosures refer to entities which occupy a protected space for retaining control over different types of social goods' and opportunities. In a policy feature out of the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) on the challenges of integration in the EU, one of the priority strategies was on correcting misinformation. Migration is a test of individuals' abilities and skills of engagement, perception, innovation, coping and endurance. Social citizenship has strong focus on equality. Integration is a quest to find fields of productive engagement in a new society. In this discussion of social exclusion, the work of Hilary Silver is referred to for clarification and history of the concept. Social exclusion is understood to be a multidimensional process of progressive social rupture. Oppression was originally associated with the tyranny of a ruling group over subjected groups. The following are perspectives from sociology and anthropology relating to misinformation and misrepresentation of immigration and integration issues.
