ABSTRACT

After leaving the port of Bolinao, the authors navigated with fair winds until the following Sunday, when they sighted the land of China; and on Tuesday 5 July the authors entered into the port of Tiongzozou. The entrance of that port was a fine sight, for besides being so large that a great number of ships could be contained therein; and so many ships were cruising under sail on each one of them that it was an amazing thing to see, for they were beyond count. The Governor of Chinchiu knowing what was happening was greatly vexed that those of Chinchiu had not found Limahon, and still more so when he heard the fine news that men had done the pirate harm. The Governor, knowing that Sinsay was coming in company, imprisoned one of his sons, and sent a captain with some ships to intercept us, and to take Sinsay prisoner by fair means or foul.
