ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book offers multiple suggestions for ways to improve our organization, particularly through operational team leadership and performance. It includes strategies that may be used to integrate the concepts into daily operations. Training should be an opportunity to help explain the Essential Components of team leadership and performance, and is a precursor to the actual design and integration of programs, policies, and procedures into work systems, such as specific communication and feedback procedures or pre-job planning tools. After Initial Training and Recurrent Training are complete, it can be easy to let team performance concepts, including the Essential Components of team leadership and performance slip away. The transformation may be recognizable when these team leadership and performance methods are united with other key parts of the organization to form a cohesive process for professional and disciplined work planning and execution.
